Mediate postoperative period of cardiac surgery; being hemodynamically stable or compensated by vasoactive drugs; being able to be evaluated using pain scales; do not have a lavender allergy; not having a narcotic addiction; not having a respiratory disease or having had any respiratory complications during the surgery; absence of chronic diseases that cause pain
Intubated patients; dissatisfaction with the continuation of the research; incidence of any clinical or surgical complication requiring urgent medical intervention; presence of any olfactory disorder recorded in the medical record; discomfort while inhaling lavender oil

Name Time Method Pain relief after inhaling the essential oil of Lavandula angustifolia is observed through the reduction of scores in the following scales: Visual Numerical Scale - EVN; Visual Analog Scale – VAS; Pain Assessment Scale - Wong Baker, in patients after cardiac surgery. The scale to be chosen will depend on the specific patient
