简要总结
In Asian countries, India has been projected as the country with the fastest growing population of diabetic patients and in terms of “Diabetes capital of the world” Diabetes prevalence is increasing rapidly in the present scenario. Globally an estimated 422 million adults are living with diabetes, the number is projected to almost double by 2030(American diabetes association). The Global prevalence of prediabetes is 5.8% in 2021 will increase upto 6.5% in 2045. Tamil Nadu experienced the highest incidence rate in 2021 with 392.41 per 100,000 and prevalence is 8.3%. In India, around 77 million people above the age of 18 years are suffering from diabetes and nearly 25 million are prediabetics . The prevalence of prediabetes in India is 22.25% (2025).The growing burden of prediabetes underscores the importance of effectively implementing diabetes prevention policies and interventions. Lifestyle modifications alone often lack sustainability without holistic support. Many patients in the prediabetic stage are unwilling to start allopathic medication or adhere to diet and exercise plans, increasing the urgency for alternative approaches. Hence, Ayurvedic interventions offer a natural, personalized, and sustainable alternative for prevention and reversal effective prevention, especially in low-income countries, is needed to slow the diabetes epidemic.
