Age 18 - 45
- Healthy
- Written informed consent
- Recreationally active (Biking >2h or running >1h per week)
- Unable to understand and speak the German language
- History of fructose malabsorption or intolerance
- History of migraine
- Acute or chronic diseases
- History of liver or renal diseases
- History of diabetes mellitus
- Fasting blood glucose =100 mg/dl or random blood glucose =200 mg/dl
- BMI <18 oder =25
- Any medication influencing the examination parameters
- Alcohol and/or drug addiction
- Above-average caffeine consumption (i.e. >4 cups of coffee/black tea per day)
- Smokers
- Pregnancy (early pregnancy test before each study day)
- Menopause
- Intensive activity within 1 week before the test day
- Disease with longer bed rest within 6 weeks before the test day
- Hemophobia

Name Time Method The aim of the planned study is to determine by means of questionnaires and cognitive performance tests as well as blood gas analysis and pulse oximetry whether oral intake of fructose compared to glucose and placebo results in less impairment of submaximal exercise performance and cognitive exercise performance and cognitive performance during hypoxia exposure.
