Inclusion Criteria
Degree of education above the fourth grade of elementary school and the possibility of attending bimonthly three times the educational practices.
Exclusion Criteria
patients with diabetes with reading disability; chronic complications (defined as renal failure; blindness; limb amputation; among others).

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method An improvement of metabolic control in the period of 18 months which is verified through examination of glycohemoglobin collection by finding of a 1,0% variation in the measurements before and after intervention.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method An increase of self-care practices within 18 months which is verified by applying the questionnaire of self-care in Diabetes by finding at least a score of 5 points in the measurements before and after intervention; <br>Increased self-eficcacy within 18 months which is verified by applying the range of psychosocial autoeficacia on Diabetes by finding at least a 3.8-point score in the measurements before and after intervention; <br>An improvement of psychological attitudes in the period of 18 months, which is verified by applying the questionnaire of attitudes on Diabetes by finding at least a score of 70 points in the measurements before and after intervention.
