Degree of education above the fourth grade of elementary school and the possibility of attending bimonthly three times the educational practices.

Exclusion Criteria

patients with diabetes with reading disability; chronic complications (defined as renal failure; blindness; limb amputation; among others).

Primary Outcome Measures

An improvement of metabolic control in the period of 18 months which is verified through examination of glycohemoglobin collection by finding of a 1,0% variation in the measurements before and after intervention.
Secondary Outcome Measures

An increase of self-care practices within 18 months which is verified by applying the questionnaire of self-care in Diabetes by finding at least a score of 5 points in the measurements before and after intervention; <br>Increased self-eficcacy within 18 months which is verified by applying the range of psychosocial autoeficacia on Diabetes by finding at least a 3.8-point score in the measurements before and after intervention; <br>An improvement of psychological attitudes in the period of 18 months, which is verified by applying the questionnaire of attitudes on Diabetes by finding at least a score of 70 points in the measurements before and after intervention.
