Study Overview
Brief Summary
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a sleep-related breathing disorder leading to sleepiness, drowsiness, decreased alertness, and poor concentration. The prevalence of OSA ranges from 4.4% to 13.7% in young adults in India. OSA is increasingly recognized as a significant health concern. While OSA is traditionally considered a condition that primarily affects older adults, there is growing recognition that it also significantly impacts younger individuals, including adolescents and young adults. The consequences of undiagnosed and untreated OSA in this age group may be far-reaching, potentially affecting cognitive function, academic performance, mood regulation, and overall quality of life. In this study the risk of Obstructive sleep Apnea will be assessed with the help of Stop bang questionnaire which is validated questionnaire and anthropometric parameters which are BMI , neck circumference , waist circumference , WC-to-height ratio (WHr)-,NC-to-height ratio (NHr)-,(Body fat analyzer )body fat percentage, visceral fat rating , 152 healthy individuals will be taken in which there will be76 male and 76 female . The association will be established using Pearson’s correlation / Spearman’s correlation depending on the normality of the data . The conclusion will be find out .
