•Inclusion criteria for cases: Primary diagnosis of invasive cutaneous melanoma (ICD-10: C43);
•Stage IV disease at time of recruitment (irrespective of stage at diagnosis);
•Date of first diagnosis in 2013 or later;
•Age at first diagnosis =37 years;
•Informed written consent for study participation.
•Inclusion criteria for controls: Age, sex and region matched to the corresponding case; Informed written consent for study participation.

•Exclusion criteria of cases: Age at first diagnosis 36 years and younger;
•Second melanoma;
•Inability to take part in the questionnaire or telephone interview;
•Inability to take part in skin cancer screening before melanoma diagnosis (e.g. living abroad);
•No informed written consent.
•Exclusion criteria of controls: Age, sex, and region not compatible with the corresponding case;
•Inability to take part in the questionnaire or telephone interview;
•Inability to take part in skin cancer screening before melanoma diagnosis (e.g. living abroad);
•No informed written consent.
