Inclusion criteria for cases: Primary diagnosis of invasive cutaneous melanoma (ICD-10: C43);
Stage IV disease at time of recruitment (irrespective of stage at diagnosis);
Date of first diagnosis in 2013 or later;
Age at first diagnosis =37 years;
Informed written consent for study participation.
Inclusion criteria for controls: Age, sex and region matched to the corresponding case; Informed written consent for study participation.
Exclusion criteria of cases: Age at first diagnosis 36 years and younger;
Second melanoma;
Inability to take part in the questionnaire or telephone interview;
Inability to take part in skin cancer screening before melanoma diagnosis (e.g. living abroad);
No informed written consent.
Exclusion criteria of controls: Age, sex, and region not compatible with the corresponding case;
Inability to take part in the questionnaire or telephone interview;
Inability to take part in skin cancer screening before melanoma diagnosis (e.g. living abroad);
No informed written consent.
