Patient willing for participation in the study.
All patients presenting in emergency with perforation peritonitis on clinical examination and radiological investigations.
1.Patients operated outside GMCH and later referred to the center.
2.Patients with other causes of hyperhaptoglobinemia (raised cell free hemoglobin with increased haptoglobin), i.e, previously diagnosed cases of hepatitis, amyloidosis, collagen diseases, lymphoma, leukemia, steroid use, aplastic anaemia, or nephrotic syndrome.
3. Patients with known history of congenital causes of haemolytic anaemia (AIHA, hereditary spherocytosis, sickle cell disease, thalassemia), and cirrhosis, which will lead to persistent decrease in serum haptoglobin levels.
