The inpatients of the first Department of geriatrics and the second Department of geriatrics in Xiyuan Hospital of Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese medicine were evaluated by friend (Taiwan improved version) scale and frailty index (FI), and 340 patients who met the diagnostic criteria of frailty were selected.
(1) Age = 65 years;
(2) Any 3 of the following conditions are met:
FRIED
1. Weight loss within 1 year > 3kg or 5%
2. Self conscious fatigue, more than 3 days last week, one question is yes (1) I find it hard to do anything
(2) Lack of motivation
3. Decreased muscle strength: grip strength (kg) depends on gender and IBM Male = 29-32; Female = 17-21
4. Decreased physical function: slow down the pace (1.5ft or 4.5m) Male = 173cm, = 7S; > 173cm =6s
Female = 159cm, = 7S; > 159cm =6s
5. Decreased physical activity Male < 383kcal / wk; Female < 270kcal / wk
(1) The patient refused to accept weakness screening;
(2) The patient is unable to communicate or the existing clinical data are unable to obtain effective information to judge whether the patient is weak or not;
(3) Severe cognitive impairment;
(4) The end stage of severe liver and kidney dysfunction and other diseases that impair the cognitive and activity of patients;
(5) Any other circumstances or events that the principal investigator considers inappropriate to participate in this study.
