Inclusion Criteria

1. end-stage OA knee
2. preoperative quadriceps muscle at least grade 4
3. preoperative independent walking ability

Exclusion Criteria

1. revision knee surgery
2. needed metal augmentation
3. contra indication to NSAID
4. contra indication to corticosteroids
