1.Patients with acute poison ingestion, admitted in EMOPD, PGIMER, Chandigarh within 6 hours of poison consumption.
2.Patients without any contraindication for Ryleâ??s tube insertion (Contraindications include deviated nasal septum, cancer of oral cavity or throat, nasal polyps, nasal injury, nasal surgery etc.)
3.Patients /attendants willing to give consent.
4.Patients above 18 years of age.
5.In case of comatose patients gastric lavage will be done only after airway protection.
1.Patients referred for further treatment after initial lavage from outside the PGIMER, Chandigarh.
2.Patients with Corrosive and hydrocarbons poisoning/ Volatile substance.
