Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Admission to the study setting (Ward 1, LRH) within 84 hours of the onset of fever
  • •2\. Clinical diagnosis of dengue infection (clinical criteria of the National Guidelines for Management of Dengue, Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka)

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Any underlying chronic disease (e.g. cardiac disease, renal disease, hepatic disease and muscular disorders)
  • •2\. Children on any long term medication
