Inclusion Criteria
Patients whose maxillary first premolars are indicated for extraction.
Patients in the age group of 18-48 years.
Average skeletal pattern.
Minimal 5mm of extraction space available for canine retraction
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with any systemic illness.
Previous history of orthodontic treatment.
Presences of any signs and symptoms of gingival and periodontal disease.
Poor oral hygiene for more than 2 visits.Evidence of bone loss.
Patients with deep caries.
Habits such as smoking, chewing the paan, consumption of alcohol
Patient taking medications that can interfere with orthodontic tooth movement.
