•All patients referred for elective abdominopelvic CT examination over the study period.
•Are the trial subjects under 18? no
•Number of subjects for this age range:
•F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes
•F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range
•F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) yes
•F.1.3.1 Number of subjects for this age range

•1. Patients referred for CT of the oesophagus,stomach and pancreas (national guidelines suggest they should have oral water anyway)
•2. Trauma patients referred from A/E: We use water anyway as using gastrograffin is more time consuming, hides mucosal detail, poor transit due to ileus, interferes with intervention etc
•3. Specialist CT examination like CT Angiography, CT Enterography, CT Cholangiography, CT Colonography and CT Urography as positive contrast interferes with reconstructions.
•4. Patients with acute abdomen - mucosal information is paramount - hence water used anyway
•5. Children - water is usual preferred agent anyway
