入选标准

  • All patients referred for elective abdominopelvic CT examination over the study period.
  • Are the trial subjects under 18? no
  • Number of subjects for this age range:
  • F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes
  • F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range
  • F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) yes
  • F.1.3.1 Number of subjects for this age range

排除标准

  • 1. Patients referred for CT of the oesophagus,stomach and pancreas (national guidelines suggest they should have oral water anyway)
  • 2. Trauma patients referred from A/E: We use water anyway as using gastrograffin is more time consuming, hides mucosal detail, poor transit due to ileus, interferes with intervention etc
  • 3. Specialist CT examination like CT Angiography, CT Enterography, CT Cholangiography, CT Colonography and CT Urography as positive contrast interferes with reconstructions.
  • 4. Patients with acute abdomen - mucosal information is paramount - hence water used anyway
  • 5. Children - water is usual preferred agent anyway
