Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. Children 2 months to \= 17 years of age admitted to the ICU with a diagnosis of septic shock
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Children with chronic kidney disease.
- •2\. Children with fulminant myocarditis
- •3\. Children with dengue shock syndrome
- •4\. Children on Vitamin C or Thiamine or steroid supplements
- •5\. Children on anticancer drugs, drugs for autoimmune diseases
- •6\. Children with G6PD deficiency
- •7\. Children on iron supplements for iron deficiency anemia (can exaggerate iron absorption, iron overload and tissue damage)
- •8\. Post\-arrest shock and cardiac dysfunction
- •9\. Moribund patients in who anticipated survival is \< 24 hrs (adjuvant therapy may not make a difference as they are already in a downward spiral).
