Inclusion Criteria

1. Children 2 months to = 17 years of age admitted to the ICU with a diagnosis of septic shock

Exclusion Criteria

1. Children with chronic kidney disease.

2. Children with fulminant myocarditis

3. Children with dengue shock syndrome

4. Children on Vitamin C or Thiamine or steroid supplements

5. Children on anticancer drugs, drugs for autoimmune diseases

6. Children with G6PD deficiency

7. Children on iron supplements for iron deficiency anemia (can exaggerate iron absorption, iron overload and tissue damage)

8. Post-arrest shock and cardiac dysfunction

9. Moribund patients in who anticipated survival is < 24 hrs (adjuvant therapy may not make a difference as they are already in a downward spiral).
