Inclusion Criteria
Age over 18 years
Admitted to ICU due to respiratory failure
Under mechanical ventilation
Meeting the extubation criteria
Exclusion Criteria
Having neuromuscular disease
Presence of pleural effusion
Decreased level of consciousness

Name Time Method Main outcome measures including rates of successful extubation, duration of extubation and ICU length of stay will be compared between the two groups. Timepoint: one weak. Method of measurement: sonography.
