- The present study will help us to know the oral health related quality of life and dental caries status among institutionalized orphan children.

简要总结
Written permissionwill be taken from the authorities of orphanages to conduct the study. Procedure of the study will be explained toall children. One hundred childrenwilling to voluntarily participate in the study will be included. Writteninformed consent will be taken from selected children.
Dataon oral health related quality of life will be collected by personal interviewsby a single investigator. The oral health related quality of life will beassessed according to Jokovic et al.
Onthe day of oral examination, prior to examination, each child will be asked torinse the mouth thoroughly with plain water. Following, each child will be madeto sit upright on an ordinary chair. Oral examination will be done in anadequate natural light with the help of mouth mirror and CPI probe. Dentalcaries status will be assessed using WHO criteria.Asingle investigator, who will be trained and calibrated in the department ofDentistry, Hasssan Instituteof Medical Sciences, will conduct the clinical examination of eachchild and record the dental caries status.
The data obtainedwill be tabulated and subjected to statistical analysis.

- •Normal, healthy, co-operative children
- •Children aged 6-14 years
- •Children residing in orphanages from the age of 6 years.

- •Children who are not willing to participate.
- •Medically compromised children.
- •Children with physical disability.
- •Children with mental disability.
