1. Multiple traumatic rib fractures treated with thoracotomy at the Pusan University Hospital Trauma Center
2. Patients aged 19 to 80 years
3. A period of over 1 month since the surgery was performed
4. Pain intensity numeric rating scale (NRS) score of at least 4 during rest, movement, or coughing over the last week
5. Patients who agree to the research purpose and provided the written informed consent
6. Responses to the study questionnaire can be performed by the participant himself/herself or with the assistance of the participant's protector or researcher.
1. Pregnancy
2. Underlying diseases that may affect postoperative outcomes, such as chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, cardiopulmonary insufficiency, or diabetes mellitus with complications
3. Cognitive impairment that could affect the patient's ability to complete the outcome assessments
4. Previous history of stroke
5. Previous history of sensitivity reaction to acupuncture
6. Unable to cooperate with acupuncture treatments
7. Pacemaker implantation
8. Previous history of epilepsy
9. Treated with acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, or herbal medicine over the last 2 weeks.
