Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\)Patients from 4\-12 years of age
  • •2\)Patients where the duration of admission \>/ 4 days
  • •3\)Informed consent obtained from parents or legal guardians.
  • •4\)Patients who have been admitted to the PICU who are undergoing general or surgical treatment

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\)Subjects with a communicable disease
  • •2\)Patients who were admitted \<4 days.
  • •3\)Parents who did not give consent.
  • •4\)Patients who can maintain their oral hygiene.
  • •5\)Patients who acquired pneumonia on admission to the PICU
