Inclusion Criteria
Age over 18 years
- Surgery on foot and/or ankle/distal lower leg without intracutaneous suture
- Operation by LOA Dr. Plaass, OA PD Dr. Lerch or FA Dr. Claassen
- Wounds over 2 cm length
Exclusion Criteria
- Fractures
- Revisions
- Infections
- patients with known pAVK
- Known allergies against metals
- Arthroscopy portals
- Known substance abuse or dementia

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Secondary endpoints:<br>- Hollander Wound Evaluation Scale (HWES)<br>Pain during threading, direct questioning after threading (verbal numeric rating scale, VNRS pain: 0-10; 0=no pain, 10=worst pain imaginable)<br>- Patient satisfaction with the course of the wound and scar after 2 weeks and 6 weeks, respectively (VNRS satisfaction: 0-10; 0= absolutely dissatisfied, 10= fully satisfied)<br>- Survey of the incision - suture time, pure suture time, length of the incisions<br>- General survey of patient characteristics, especially body mass index (BMI), American Society of Anesthesiologists classification (ASA), known diabetes mellitus, nicotine (ab)usus<br>- All wound complications up to 6 weeks after suture removal as:<br>- infection with pus, redness etc.<br>- Wound necrosis<br>- Wound dehiscence<br>- Blistering near the wound<br>- Allergic reaction to suture material<br>- Revision<br>
