1. Primi gravid
2. Singleton pregnancy
3. In cephalic presentation
1. Chronic medical illness (Renal disease, liver disease, connective tissue disorders, endocrine disorders)
2. Obstetric complications that can affect the labor process such as low lying placenta, deformed pelvis
3. Gross fetal anomaly detected at the routine ultrasound scan at 28 weeks
4. Fetal macrosomia detected at the routine ultrasound scan at confinement
5. Use of drugs such as calcium channel blockers, MgSO4, Beta agoniststhat can affect uterine contraction
6. Age more than 35 years
7. BMI more than 30 at confinement
8. Induction of labour
