- •Patients presenting for blood donation at the blood bank who have provided informed consent for the use of their blood samples for experimental research purposes as part of the ATLaNtA study (2018-140_2KFogU: “Potential activation mechanisms and interactions of platelets in degenerative diseases of the liver, brain, and aorta – ATLaNtA study”).
- •Patients with AAA/TAA fulfilling guideline-based indications for endovascular aneurysm repair (study cohort).
- •Patients with AAA/TAA presenting for routine follow-up examinations at the vascular outpatient clinic.
- •Patients with other atherosclerotic vascular diseases (excluding AAA/TAA), including peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD) or carotid artery stenosis, presenting for routine follow-up examinations at the vascular outpatient clinic.
- •Age =18 years.
- •Technically feasible blood collection.
- •Written informed consent.

- •Lack of a declaration of consent
- •Psychiatric disorders and the resulting legal incapacity
- •Known blood clotting disorders
- •Known genetic platelet disorders
