Neither patients nor hospital staff are included in this study. Medication orders and medication alerts are included that are processed in the included normal wards of Heidelberg University Hospital during the period of the pilot study.

To what extent does the proportion of alerts per medication order, the proportion of alerts marked as sighted by prescribers, and to what extent do medication orders differ in response to the reporting of an alert by prescribers depending on the three arms (training, alert round, control)?

- Assessment of the extent to which the interventions of training and alert rounds could be integrated into everyday work on the ward in the future, and with which resources.<br>- Satisfaction and usefulness of the interventions offered.<br>- Evaluation of whether the three primary outcomes differ depending on the alert type overall and between the groups.<br>- Evaluation of correlations between other influencing variables such as general patient characteristics, prescription, alert, or integration characteristics and the primary outcomes depending on the intervention.<br>- To what extent does the preselection of medication alerts in the alert visit by pharmacists influence the acceptance of alerts?
