Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Age \> 18 years of age
  • •American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I\-III

Exclusion Criteria

  • •Patients requiring inotropes
  • •Patients allergic to dexmedetomidine or propofol
  • •Patients with bradycardia(baseline heart rate \< 60 beats/min) or uncontrolled hypertension
  • •Patients who could not be extubated within 24 hours
