1) Adults age 19 and above ( no age limit for elderly )
2) Patients with cardiogenic shock requiring intensive care monitoring in ICU
3) Patients elegible for oral medication administration
4) Patients who have provided research participation consent through a written informed consent form
1) Unwilling or unable to obtain informed consent by the participant or substitute decision maker
2) Patients with acute coronary syndrome
3) Patients with severe valvular heart disease requiring emergent percutaneous procedures or surgery
4) Known hypersensitivity to beta-blockers
5) Patients with a history of bronchospasm or asthma
6) Patients with bradycardia or second or third-degree atrioventricular block
7) Patients with sick sinus syndrome, including sinoatrial block
8) Patients with untreated pheochromocytoma
9) Patients currently undergoing de-sensitization therapy
10) Patients who are currently pregnant, postpartum period within 30 days or breast-feeding
