1) Skeletally mature patients.
2) Fracture of distal femur (supracondylar femur) without intra-articular extension. As per Muller’s classification (A1, A2, A3.)
3) Fracture requiring operative intervention amenable to either distal femoral nailing or locking plate.
1) Fractures of distal femur with intra-articular extension.
2) Open fractures, pathological fractures of distal femur, known metabolic bone disease, and existing deformity in the affected limb.
3) Individuals who have undergone previous surgery in distal femur.
