Brief Summary

Thirty-five patients were included. There were 28 (80%) blunt injuries and 7 (20%) penetration injuries. The mortality rate of Blunt injury was 54% (n=15) and the mortality rate of Penetrating injury was 14% (n=1). Thirty-two (91%) patients underwent surgical treatment, and the overall mortality rate was 46% (n=16). In regression analysis, the Glasgow Coma Scale was an independent mortality risk factor (OR=0.669, 95% CI [0.474-0.945], p=0.023), and RBC transfusion for 4hr was the other determinant of mortality (OR=1.173, 95% CI [1.046). -1.315], p = 0.006).

Inclusion Criteria

patients with traumatic IVC injuries by radiologically or surgically confirmed

Exclusion Criteria

DOA (patients who died on arrival), patients who died during resuscitation in the emergency room or resuscitation room, patients whose cause of death was not inferior vena cava injury, and patients under 15 years of age
