1.Patients with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome as per ICD-10
2.Male patients in the age range of 18-60 years
3.Willing to get admitted as independent patient
1.Dependence on other substances except nicotine and caffeine
2.Significant liver impairment ( liver enzymes increased more than 3 times) and unstable medical disorder
3.History of complicated withdrawals in the past (DT, Withdrawal Seizures etc)
4.History of hypersensitivity to diazepam, lorazepam and oxazepam
5.Active psychotic patient
6.Acutely suicidal patient
7.Intoxicated patient
