Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Preterm infants more than 28 weeks of gestation and less than 35 weeks of gestation. And showing signs of clinical jaundice and/or elevated trans-cutaneous bilirubin (2 mg below phototherapy threshold and above) or elevated serum bilirubin ( at or above phototherapy threshold ) warranting phototherapy admitted in NICU, department of paediatrics, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal
Exclusion Criteria
- •<28 and >35 weeks of gestation
- •Conditions that could interfere with TCB measurements such as
- •Congenital malformations
- •Hydrops fetalis
- •Diffuse cutaneous conditions
- •Neonates requiring exchange transfusion
- •Critically ill preterms
- •And age more than 21 days of life.
- •Bilirubin levels not warranting phototherapy.
