Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Participants with clinical and radiological features suggestive of malignant middle cerebral artery infarct (infarct involving \>50 % of middle cerebral artery territory or presence of midline shift \>5mm on plain CT scan or fall in admission GCS by 1 point) who undergo decompressive craniectomy within 48 hours of ictus.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Participants with deranged renal parameters and history of radiocontrast allergy
  • 2\.Participants who are unfit for surgery.
  • 3\.Participants who are pregnant.
  • 4\.Participants with previous history of stroke.
  • 5\.Participants with intracerebral hemorrhage on initial CT scan.
