Today, the world is facing a major health challenge in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is highly contagious and still untreated. Although many medications are used to alleviate symptoms of COVID-19, there is no established medication for this purpose. The COVID-19 pandemic is considered a type of Janpadodhvaṃsaaccording to Ä€yurveda. According to Ä€cÄryaCaraka, In Janpadodhvaṃsa person having distinct pá¹›aká¹›ti (constitution), ÄhÄra(diet), deha(body),Bala(strength),sÄtmya(mental strength), mana (mind)and Vaya(age) may be affected by one particular disease.. Therefore to prevent and treat COVID-19, the study of NidÄna and Sampá¹›aptiis very important. COVID-19 is a newly emerging disease and its causes, pathogenesis, prevention, and management is very less known. Ä€yuá¹›vedika medicines may give a significant contribution to the prevention and treatment of COVID 19. So to make our preventive measures and Ä€yuá¹›vedika treatment more precise, knowledge of the etiopathogenesis of COVID-19 is the need of the hour.
