Brief Summary

An observational crossectional study on IMPACT OF LOWER LIMB MUSCLE STRENGTH, JOINT RANGE OF MOTION  AND FOOT SENSATION ON BALANCE AND FEAR OF FALL IN DIABETIC  NEUROPATHY PATIENTS.

AIMS OF THE STUDY-    To study the impact of each factor i.e Impact of lower limb muscle strength, sensation, and joint range of motion, on balance and fear of fall in diabetic neuropathy.

1   OBJECTIVES- To find association between Diabetic neuropathy and

a.Demographic variables:age,sex

b.Anthropometric variable: BMI

2. To find strength of association of lower limb muscle strength with balance and fear of fall in diabetic neuropathy patients

3. To find strength of association of joint range of motion with balance and fear of fall in diabetic neuropathy patients

4. To find strength of association of foot sensation with balance and fear of fall in diabetic neuropathy patients

Inclusion Criteria
  • (1)Diabetic neuropathy diagnosed by c lin ic ian.
  • (2)Subjects willing to participate and sign the written informed consent.
  • (3)Age group between 45-75 years.
  • (4)History of T2DM for more than 5 years.
  • (5)Ability to walk independently.
Exclusion Criteria
  • History of visual including diabetic retinopathy or vestibular impairment.
  • (2)History of neuropathies of the nondiabetic cause.
  • (3)Subjects under any neuroprotective drugs.
  • (4)Presence of any other neurological condition which compromises balance.
  • (5)Musculoskeletal ailments of lower extremity leading to pain and instability.
  • (6)Presence of foot ulcers or any amputation.
  • (7)Participant diagnosed with severe cognitive impairment dementia or Alziemers disease by neurologist or a psychiatrist.
