Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients aged 18 years or above undergoing Buccal Mucosal Graft harvest for any indication.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Patients not giving consent
  • 2\. Patients with oral sub mucosal fibrosis
  • 3\. Active smokers
  • 4\. Patients with known drug allergy to local anesthetic drugs
  • 5\. Patients with severe cardiovascular compromise

This work is of direct relevance to everyday general dental practice. The outcomes of this work are likely to influence the way in which paractitioners approach the problem of anaesthetising mandibular teeth, and as a consequence, volunteers are likely to benefit directly during dental attendances in the years to come.
