Pregnant women of ASA grade II between the age of 18 to 40 years undergoing Elective caesarean section under Spinal Anaesthesia.
Parturients with complications like :
1)risk of excessive bleeding(placenta previa, prolonged labor, abnormal presentation, multiple gestation)
2)pre-existing or pregnancy induced hypertension, cardiovascular disease, severe anemia, diabetes, known fetal abnormalities
3)contraindications for spinal anaesthesia,
4)known allergy to phenylephrine
5)maternal systolic blood pressure <100 mmhg
6)inability or refusal to give informed consent
