After obtaining informed and written consent, adult patients between age 18ââ?¬â??60Ã? years,
ASA physical status I and II and Mallampati class 1& 2 undergoing elective surgical
procedures under general anaesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation which are having
successful intubation in single attempt will be included in this study.
1. H/O sore throat, sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infections.
2. Prolonged surgeries i.e. Duration of >3 hours.
3. Upper gastro-intestinal surgeries and patient with gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
4. Difficult intubation.
5. Patients undergoing day case, bariatric, cardiac, nasal, dental, oral or head & neck
surgeries, requiring placement of throat pack or nasogastric/ orogastric tube,
6. Any H/O of severe medical illness
7. Allergic to Vitamin C.
8. Pregnant and lactating females
9. Psychiatric disorders will be excluded from the study.
10. Steroid therapy.
