Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Thirty adult patients who are scheduled to undergo general anesthesia under tracheal intubation at our hospital and who meet all of the following criteria:
  • 1\) an arterial catheter is inserted in the upper extremity
  • 2\) a pulmonary artery catheter is inserted
  • 3\) Written informed consent to participate in research before surgery
  • Therefore, the target patients are expected to be mainly those undergoing cardiovascular surgery.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Exclude patients and timings that meet any of the following:
  • 1\. Timing when using extracorporeal circulation
  • 2\. Patients with an arteriovenous shunt
  • 3\. Patients with severe respiratory disease
  • 4\. Patients with severe acid\-base imbalance, timing
  • 5\. Patients who cannot wear the SpHb sensor due to finger deformation or low perfusion, timing when SpHb cannot be obtained
  • 6\. Within 10 minutes after changing ventilator settings
  • 7\. Body temperature outside the range of from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius
