Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • The inclusion criteria included: (1\) clinical symptoms of breathing disorder, such as snoring, and mouth breathing; (2\) palatine tonsil hypertrophy classified by means of mouth examination according to the grading criteria of Brodsky; (3\) adenoid hypertrophy assessed by means of flexible nasoendoscopy; (4\) diagnosis of OSA with the aid of PSG examination revealing an obstructive AHI bigger then 1 event/hour, according to the criteria of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM);(5\) constricted maxillary arch, high palate, unilateral or bilateral posterior crossbite, and/or some degree of mandibular retrusion; (6\) children between 5 and 12 years old incomplete.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Exclusion criteria included: (1\) obese children (BMI bigger then 95 kg/m2\); (2\) genetic syndrome; (3\) craniofacial anomalies; (4\) systemic diseases.
