简要总结
Healthcare students often have very busy and demanding schedules, which lead to irregular eating habits and high levels of stress. Because of this, many of them commonly experience digestive or stomach-related problems such as stomach pain, bloating, acidity, constipation, or loose stools. These problems happen more often when students skip meals, eat fast food, have late-night meals, drink too much coffee or soft drinks, or do not drink enough water. Living in hostels, studying late at night, and pressure from exams also affect their digestive health. When such symptoms occur frequently, they can disturb students’ daily life. Many students find it difficult to pay attention in class, participate in practical sessions, sleep well, or manage stress. Over time, these issues can affect their academic performance and overall well-being.Although these digestive problems are common among healthcare students, very few studies have closely examined how their eating habits are connected to the stomach symptoms they experience. To address this, the present study titled A Correlational Study to Assess Gastrointestinal Symptoms versus Dietary Habits among Students of the Selected Health Care Institution at Mangalore aims to understand this relationship in a simple and clear way. The study will look at the types of gastrointestinal symptoms students commonly face and observe their everyday eating patterns, including what they eat, how often they eat, and whether they follow regular meal timings. It will then explore whether there is a link between their dietary habits and the symptoms they experience. The study will also examine whether factors like age, gender, course of study, and living arrangements influence their digestive health.By identifying these connections, this study hopes to create awareness among students and institutions, encouraging healthier eating habits and lifestyles. This can help reduce stomach-related problems and support better academic performance, mental health, and overall quality of life
