Inclusion Criteria
1) acquired brain lesion = three months post onset
2) sufficient language skills for participation in the intervention and outcome tests
3) consent to take part in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
1) history of severe psychiatric disorders
2) alcohol or drug abuse
3) severe cognitive deficits that limit the realisation of the study
4) pregnancy

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Primary Outcome is working memory functioning. Performance is analyzed with multiple standardized neuropsychological tests which are combined to a composite score. Outcome measures are: Digit and Span Board tasks (WMS-R), Digit-Symbol Coding and Letter-Number Sequencing (WIE). <br><br>All outcomes are measured 3 times: at baseline before training, after 10 training sessions, after 20 training sessions.<br><br>Examinations are individual and take place in quite separate rooms. The examiners are blind with respect to group allocation.
