Brief Summary

ABSTRACT The dysfunctional temporomandibular joint can have negative consequences in the individual's daily life activities. Temporomandibular disorders can generate pain in the region of the joint, decreased mouth opening amplitude, difficulty sleeping or non-restorative sleep, due to consequence loss of quality of life. Osteopathy uses non-evasive techniques with results satisfactory in the algid condition and gain in range of motion. The present research seeks substantiate the importance of osteopathy and prove the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment in patients with DTM. This research is expected to provide improvement in pain, gain in range of motion and quality of life, as well as substantiating the importance of osteopathic techniques. in Osteopathy it will be guided by the following teacher: Prof. Dr. Jonas Correa Ferreira School of Osteopathy of Madrid – EO.

Inclusion Criteria

Both sexes; be over 18 and have a maximum age of 45; not having used orthodontic braces; do not use fixed or mobile dental prostheses; not having rheumatic disease; not using analgesics; not have fibromyalgia.

Exclusion Criteria

Minor; be over 45 years old; fibromyalgia patient; have rheumatic disease, use daily analgesics, use fixed dental prosthesis; or mobile; having already used orthodontic braces.
