1.Children ( 6-10 years ) who are chronically undernourished (non-edematous ) based on the recent 2007 WHO growth standards for school-age children.
2.Primary endpoint; Underweight defined by a z-score < -2 SD for weight-for-age.
3.Secondary end point; stunting defined by a z-score of <-2 SD height-for-age will be used as for selection of children.
4.A z-score <-1SD weight-for-height to identify wasting, and MUAC, <12.5 cm, will be used as an additional marker for undernourishment.
5.Who are positive for any intestinal parasites.
6.Serum albumin concentrations (30-50 g/L), in childrens who tested positive for intestinal parasites.
The following will be exclusion criteria for the study;
1. Children who do not follow the above selection criterion will be excluded.
2. Who are malnourished with edema will be excluded from the study.
3. Severally malnourished/ or Healthy children.
4. Children who are suffering from any other (previously reported) illness like, heart, kidney, lungs etc.
5. Who feel uncomfortable to undergo the experimental procedure.
6. If parents do not allow their children to participate, will also be an exclusion criteria for the study.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To determine the protein requirements in chronically malnourished children of school-age (6-10y) using the minimally invasive indicator amino acid oxidation (IAAO) method.

Timepoint: Two times points (each before treatment for parasites and after treatment for testing 2 different levels of protein (low and high)based on habitual dietary intake.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess the impact of antiparasite treatment in the same chronically undernourished children on protein requirements.

Timepoint: Two times points (each before treatment for parasites and after treatment for testing 2 different levels of protein (low and high)based on habitual dietary intake.
