Inclusion Criteria
Patients aged 16-35, in active orthodontic treatment with vital premolars without pathological finding, which are to be extracted in the course of their orthodontic treatment, prior to application of any orthodontic force
Exclusion Criteria
Non-vital / root canal-treated premolars, premolars with open carious lesions or deep fillings, pregnancy

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Histologic assessment will be performed by one blinded calibrated examiner. Using a light microscope, histopathological events will be evaluated and classified by a descriptive analysis.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method One day after treatment, the treated premolar will be assessed for following points: <br><br>Assessment of the bleaching effect, i.e. color change (measured by VITA Easyshade® Advance, Vita Zahnfabrik AG, Germany)<br><br>Assessment of changes in tooth vitality through cooling spray (positive/negative)<br><br>Assessment of change of tooth surface temperature through treatment<br><br>Assessment of tooth sensitivity (VAS) - 1. perceived self-reported sensitivity 2. reaction to gentle air blow
