18 to 99 (—)

Inclusion Criteria

  • indication for total hip arthroplasty
  • BMI< 30 kg/m2
  • candidates for both approaches
  • candidates for uncemented prothesis age < 80 year; ASA-classification I en II
  • general anesthesia
  • primary arthritis

Exclusion Criteria

  • previous surgery on the affected hip
  • inflammatory polyarthritis
  • candidates for cemented prothesis
  • spinal anesthesie
  • fractures; ASA-classification III en IV;
  • previous six months an cerebral vascular accident or a trans ischemic accident; age <80 year;
