- Male
入选标准
- •Men 50 years of age or more
- •Full sternotomy
- •Not in chronic, systemic corticosteroid treatment.
- •No Plavix treatment 5 days prior to surgery
- •No known bone metabolic diseases.
- •Normal serum levels of Vitamin D, Calcium, PTH, alkaline phosphatase (within reference interval).
- •No known risk of osteosarcoma.
- •Ability to understand and cooperate with the planned examinations.
- •Ability to speak and understand Danish.
- •Are the trial subjects under 18? no
- •Number of subjects for this age range:
- •F.1.2 Adults (18-64 years) yes
- •F.1.2.1 Number of subjects for this age range 24
- •F.1.3 Elderly (>=65 years) yes

- •Re-operation
- •Use of bonewax during surgery
- •Prior radiation therapy involving the skeleton
- •Severely impaired renal function
- •Known allergic reactions to any of the compounds in the trial medication.
- •Current treatment with digoxin
- •Major medical or social problems that will be likely to preclude participation
- •Severely impaired liver function
- •Unknown raised levels of bone specific alkaline phosphatase
