Study Overview
Brief Summary
This study aims to interpret the maternal and perinatal outcomes in obese and overweight pregnant woman over a year-long cross sectional study. Through comprehensive analysis of maternal and perinatal outcomes, the study seeks to address the need for meticulous management of such pregnancies and also the need to prevent such complications. This observational cross sectional study conducted at KAHER’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC, Belagavi, will involve antenatal cases with BMI greater than 23 bearing single ton pregnancy and with period of gestation more than 28 weeks. This cross-sectional study at KAHERs Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi, Karnataka, will compare maternal and perinatal outcomes between two groups of pregnant women based on BMI categories: Group A (BMI 23-27.5 kg/m²) and Group B (BMI >27.5 kg/m²). Detailed records including maternal weight, BMI, gestational details, delivery outcomes, and neonatal health will be collected and analyzed over a one-year period with a minimum sample size of 267 participants.

Inclusion Criteria
- •Singleton Pregnancies attending labour room of KAHERs Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi, Karnataka having BMI of greater than 23.0 Greater than 28 weeks of gestation.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Multifetal pregnancies BMI lesser than or equal to 23 Pregnancies lesser than or equal to 28 weeks of gestation.
Outcomes
Primary Outcomes
To assess the maternal outcomes in overweight and obese women based on
Time Frame: During pregnancy, at delivery and postpartum.
-First trimester BMI
Time Frame: During pregnancy, at delivery and postpartum.
-The difference in first trimester and third trimester BMI
Time Frame: During pregnancy, at delivery and postpartum.
Secondary Outcomes
- To assess the perinatal outcomes in overweight & obese women based on(-First trimester BMI)
