入选标准

  • 1 Older adults with dementia, 1.1 have a primary caretaker, 1.2 received a preliminary assessment of brain condition have dementia by using the assessment form The preliminary brain condition test, Thai version 2002 (Mini-Mental state Examination Thai 2002 (MMSE-T 2002), 1.3 older adults with moderate to severe dementia and is a patient with dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease or vascular dementia or a combination of both. (Dementia diagnosis is made according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Criteria 4 (DSMIV), 1.4 has a score for assessing the ability Carry out daily routines using Barthel Activities of Daily Living (ADL) between 5-11 (under 12), 1.5 At least 6 natural teeth remained (at least 1 representative quadrant), 1.6 Older adults consented to participate in the study. In the case of dementia patients who have severe symptoms and may not be able to make decisions on their own will seek approval from a legitimate representative or a direct relative, 2. The main caregivers, 2.1 The caregivers received a preliminary assessment of brain conditions that no dementia by using the assessment Mini-Mental state Examination Thai 2002 (MMSE-T 2002), 2.2 The caregivers admitted to being responsible for helping the daily life of the older adults with dementia - the caregivers for more than 6 months, aged 18 years and over, 2.3 Communicate and understand the Thai language, 2.4 The caregivers has no hearing, speech or other communication problems, 2.5 Consent to cooperate in research

排除标准

  • 1. Older adults with dementia receiving antibiotics/anti-inflammatory drugs and their legal representatives did not agree to participate in the study, 2. The caregivers who cannot read/write caregivers / who cannot communicate in Thai, caregivers with mental disorders, and who refused to participate in the study
