(1) Diagnosed as having migraine without aura according to the diagnostic criteria specified by the International Classification of Headache Disorders (International Classification of Headache Disorders-Third edition [ICHD-III]),
(2) Had migraine history at least 1 year before study entry;
(3) Had at least two migraine attacks in the last 4 weeks;
(4) Aged between 18 and 65 years old;
(5) Received no prophylactic treatments using acupuncture or pharmacological medicine in the past three months;
(6) Had no smoking, drinking and other hobbies;
(7) Provided written informed consent.
(1) Tension-type headache, cluster headache, or other primary headaches;
(2) Secondary headache;
(3) Immunodeficiency diseases;
(4) Hemorrhagic diseases;
(5) Allergic diseases;
(6) Pregnancy, lactation, or insufficient contraception;
(7) Had a history of use of beta blockers, antipsychotics, or antidepressants within the past 3 months;
(8) Had a history of depression or other psychiatric disorders, Parkinson's disease, or other extrapyramidal diseases;
(9) Nuclear magnetic contraindication: metal implantation in vivo, claustrophobia, etc.
