The study titled" Reaction time reference values for healthy individuals across different age groups" aims to determine the normative reference value of reaction time for healthy individuals aged 18 to 70 years in Haryana, India. Reaction time is the time interval between the presentation of a stimulus and the appearance of an appropriate voluntary response in an individual. Good reaction time is essential for movement efficiency, balance, and injury prevention, often impaired by neurological, musculoskeletal and systemic conditions. In this cross sectional observational study a total of 500 subjects will be included, with 100 subjects in each age categories. Reaction time will be measured using the ruler drop method (RDM) for both right and left hand. In ruler drop method, the distance between the bottom of the ruler and the top of the participant thumb where the ruler has been caught will be measured in centimeters. The distance will be converted to reaction time, using the formula for a free body falling under the influence of gravity. Data will be analysed using statistical analysis software like SPSS. Descriptive statistics will be expressed in terms of mean and standard deviation.

入选标准
- •1.Normal healthy individuals (self reported, not on any medications) of Haryana aged 18 to 70 years.
- •2.Both male and female subjects will be included.
- •3.Subjects who are able to understand the test command.
排除标准
- •1.Subjects with open wound, recent fracture, recent surgery, contracture or any nerve injury in upper limb.
- •2.Subjects who are suffering from neurological disorder affecting normal movement.
- •3.Subjects who have severe musculoskeletal problems affecting the upper extremity or spine and physical disability.
