1)PCOS Patients
Based on the 2003 Rotterdam consensus, the three diagnostic criteria of PCOS are:-
-Oligo-and/or anovulation (OA),
-Hyperandrogenism
-Ultrasound feature of polycystic ovaries:-(Presence of more than 12 follicles with a diameter of 2–9 mm or when the ovarian volume is more than 10mm at least in 1 ovary).
2)Age (18-45 years)
3)Infertility
4) No contraindications for oral administration of metformin
5) No administration of metformin within the previous four months
6) No administration of oral contraception within two months prior to the study.
7) No medication affecting gonadal or adrenal function, carbohydrate or lipid metabolism.
1)Metformin intolerance.
2) Thyroid dysfunction
3)Diabetes mellitus
4) Hyperprolactinemia
